The film house got the North American distribution rights for Brad Furman‘s long-delayed film, which was shot over three years ago in Greece. Jamie Foxx, Robert DeNiro, and Scott Eastwood star in “The Lincoln Lawyer” director’s latest, which follows Eastman’s ex-special forces soldier on a black ops mission to take down Foxx’s cult leader. The only catch? The soldier used to be part of said cult…
Here’s a synopsis for “Tin Soldier,” courtesy of Deadline:
In Tin Soldier, a cult leader (Foxx) has been building an army of highly-trained veterans by offering them protection and purpose. A government operative (De Niro) subsequently recruits Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), an ex-disciple, to go back into the cult’s impenetrable fortress to take him down once and for all. Cavanaugh must use his insider knowledge and ex-special forces skills to get revenge on the man who wronged him, including killing the love of his life.
Along with Foxx, DeNiro, and Eastwood, “Tin Soldier” also stars John Leguizamo, Shamier Anderson, Rita Ora, and Nora Arnezeder. Saïd Taghmaoui, Joey Bicicchi, and Laurence Mason round out the main cast.
Furman directs a screenplay by him, Jess Fuerst, and Pablo Fenjves. Furman and Fuerst also produce the film with Brad Feinstein, Steven Chasman, and Keith Kjarval.
“Tin Soldier” still lacks an official release date in the US, but an announcement is expected soon from Samuel Goldwyn Films. The film arrives on Prime Video in the UK on July 23. Watch a trailer for “Tin Soldier” below.
