Got a Tip?

‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Kit Harington Is Joining The Marvel Cinematic Universe In An Unknown Role

Marvel somehow protected all their many secrets at Comic-Con this year: eleven projects announced, five Disney + shows, five movies from Phase 4 and “Blade” for Phase 5. How they kept all that under wraps is nothing short of a miracle. But with D23 kicking off today, and Marvel’s panel tomorrow, some secrets are starting to leak. First, there’s the news that Marvel is making a Disney+ series based on the Muslim female character Ms. Marvel and now, to follow it up, Deadline has announced that “Game Of Thrones” star Kit Harington is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who’s he playing? Currently, that’s the only bit that’s been revealed and the role is under wraps. However, Deadlines says Harington who played Jon Snow on “Game Of Thrones” for eight seasons on HBO will be appearing in a movie and not a Disney+ limited series which will provoke all kind of guessing games and speculation.

Could it be a “Game of Thrones” reunion with Harington starring alongside Richard Madden in “Eternals” which lands on screen in the fall of 2020? Could he be a villain in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” or “Thor: Love and Thunder“? Or could it be an entirely as-of-yet-announced Marvel movie? Given how big of a star Madden was on TV, one would assume they’re saving some big hero role for him and possibly introducing an entirely brand new character and franchise around him, but who knows.

Harington recently checked into rehab after “Game of Thrones,” admitting he was struggling with life after the immense show that was such a big part of his identity, and that he spent over ten years working on, suddenly vanished. But this is surely the kind of good news that is hopefully lifting the actor’s spirits and a sign that the healing has begun.
