'The Kominsky Method' Trailer: Michael Douglas & Alan Arkin Are A Bromance You Never Knew You Wanted

Veteran TV writer-producer Chuck Lorre is making the leap to Netflix (as is almost everyone else), and his first series for the streaming service, “The Kominsky Method,” combines two Academy Award winners for what looks like a “Grumpy Old Men” for the 21st century.

Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin play two best friends (that hate to admit it their love for each other) that are approaching the twilight of their lives and are on the search for meaning. Along the way, they talk about their daughters, their love life, and how exciting it is for Danny DeVito to stick a finger in your rear. It’s definitely from the mind of Lorre, who (in)famously brought audiences “The Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men,” but without the typical laugh-track and stilted acting that seems to dominate his other outings.

Despite Lorre’s involvement, judging from the first trailer, “The Kominsky Method” brings to mind Netflix’sGrace & Frankie” more than anything with a “Bazinga!” in it.

Joining Douglas and Arkin in the cast are a variety of great actors including Lisa Edelstein, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Ann-Margret, Jay Leno, Patti LaBelle, Ashleigh LaThorpe, and the aforementioned DeVito.
