We have to admit, when we first heard that the next installment of the ‘Final Destination’ franchise was going to be titled “5nal Destination” we thought it was incredibly stupid. However, as we kept on reporting news about the film, we sort of grew fond of the ridiculous title (even though many people commented that, to them, it read like anal destination, which is all kinds of funny in itself) finding it be a cheeky moniker for a franchise that has played out its ludicrous premise to surprising, continual success.
Well, it looks like New Line might be bailing on the title as Bloody Disgusting reports that according to their sources, the film won’t be named “5nal Destination.” Though we have no interest really in the movie, to us it seemed like a fitting and perfectly great/terrible title. No word yet on what the final title will be, but don’t be surprised if its something that’s just plain lame like “Final Destination 5” or “Final: Destination” or if they just move the number somewhere else to “Final De5tination.”
Anyhow, the film starring P.J. Byrne, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Nicholas D’Agosto, Ellen Wroe, Meghan Ory, David Koechner and Tony Todd starts filming next month Steven Quale directing. Death will be creatively unleashed on August 26, 2011.
