Film and TV are filled with love stories. Some are cheesy, while others are just unrealistic and stupid. Then you have “Landscapers,” which is HBO’s attempt to take the typical love story between two married people and flip it on its head when the duo gets accused of a grisly crime. Oh yeah, and it’s based on a true story.
As seen in the trailer for “Landscapers,” the limited series stars Olivia Colman and David Thewlis as Susan and Chris Edwards, respectively. This seemingly normal British couple is at the heart of this unconventional love story that follows the duo as they become the center of a massive murder investigation when two dead bodies are discovered buried in their garden. Is this married couple just people at the wrong place at the wrong time? Or is there something more sinister going on?
“Landscapers” is directed by Will Sharpe, who is probably best known for his films “Flowers” and the recently released feature, “The Electric Life of Louis Wain.” The series is written by Ed Sinclair and also stars Kate O’ Flynn, Dipo Ola, Samuel Anderson, David Hayman, Felicity Montagu, and Daniel Rigby.
“Landscapers” debuts on HBO on December 6.
Here’s the synopsis:
Inspired by real events, LANDSCAPERS tells a unique love story involving Chris and Susan Edwards (Thewlis and Colman), a seemingly ordinary British couple who become the focus of an extraordinary investigation when two dead bodies are discovered in the back garden of a house in Nottingham.
