'Legion' Season 2 First Look Promises An Experience That Will 'Tickle' Your Brain

The return of FX’sLegion” is right around the corner, and they’ve just released a new video that promises this season will be ten times trippier than the last, if that’s possible.

In the “First Look” video, you get interviews with the cast and crew as they breakdown what happened at the very end of season 1, and what that means for the upcoming season. Basically, David was trapped in a sphere, he re-emerges some time later with jumbled memories that include a rooftop forest and dancing, while the rest of the world thinks, again, that he’s delusional.

Creator Noah Hawley explains that the series is squarely about mental illness, and season 2 is no exception. This season, the focus is on delusion and what can make a whole group of people experience this illness. All the cast is returning, and judging by their interviews, they’re just as excited and hard-pressed to describe what exactly is going on as they were last time.

As is the theme throughout the video, the various interviewees describe the show as “challenging,” and viewers can definitely attest to that. Star Dan Stevens says the goal of the show is to “tickle” your brain. So, if that’s the sort of TV you’re looking for, then give “Legion” a shot. From the footage shown, it’s a colorful, crazy, amusing, and wild ride, to say the least.

If you need further proof of the show’s intense, and somewhat manic, style, take a look at this second new teaser, which focuses on the character of Lenny, played by Aubrey Plaza.

Here’s the official synopsis for season 2 of “Legion:”

Legion follows the story of “David Haller,” a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of “Amahl Farouk” from attaining infinite and world-ending power.
