Turn on your prognostication machines. Another category in the Oscar race has taken shape, and this time it’s mostly the movies you’ve been taking the kids (or the kid in your heart) to all year along.
The official submissions for the Best Animated Feature category are in, and the choices are what you’d expect. Obvious contenders like "The Lego Movie," "Big Hero 6," "How To Train Your Dragon 2," and "The Boxtrolls" are here, as well as movies we forgot existed, like "Rio 2." There are some we’ve never heard of ("Minuscule – Valley of the Lost Ants" anybody?) while foreign entries are also in play, such as "The Tale Of Princess Kaguya." Fun fact: no Pixar entry this year.
See you on January 15th when the final five are revealed. Check out the 20 movies contending for a spot at the Oscars below. [Yahoo]
