Here’s an official synopsis for “Lessons In Chemistry,” courtesy of Apple TV+:
Set in the early 1950s, “Lessons in Chemistry” follows Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth finds herself fired from her lab, she accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives – and the men who are suddenly listening – a lot more than recipes.
Brie Larson stars and executive produces this series adaptation of Bonnie Garmus’ 2022 novel. While audiences may know her better as Captain Marvel nowadays, Larson has amassed an impressive filmography since her Academy Award win for 2015’s “Room.” For this project, she leads an impressive cast that includes Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Kevin Sussman, Patrick Walker, and Thomas Mann. And “Lessons In Chemistry” comes at a time when cooking is a buzzy topic on TV, thanks to the massive success of Hulu’s “The Bear.”
Cooking, science, and life lessons merge in the new series “Lessons in Chemistry.” The series premieres on Apple TV+ on October 13. Watch a trailer for the limited series below.
