'Life Itself' Trailer Starring Olivia Wilde, Oscar Isaac & Annette Bening

Like it or not, there’s no denying that “This is Us” is a monster of a TV show. The series, which has only been on the air for a relatively short amount of time has captured the hearts of millions of viewers and becoming one of the rare “must-watch” series when it airs live. A huge part of the show’s success is creator Dan Fogelman. And while many know him for his TV output, the creator has a new film under his belt, and it’ll definitely appeal to those that enjoy his more heartfelt work.

In the first trailer for the upcoming film, “Life Itself,” we finally get our first glimpse at the newest film from Fogelman. Even in the short time of the teaser, “Life Itself” already shows viewers the heart and trademark family relationships that have made Fogelman’s “This is Us” such a massive hit.

“Life Itself” follows a couple, played by the always-great Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde, in a multi-generational love story that is sure to pull at your heartstrings. But you already knew that, considering “This is Us” is known for making grown men and women weep like babies. While the teaser doesn’t give away too much in the way of plot, the film seems to revolve around a single event that has brought a group of unlikely people together.

Other than his hit TV show, Fogelman is an accomplished screenwriter, responsible for such films as “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” “Tangled,” “and Pixar’sCars.” His feature film directorial debut came in 2015, with the Al Pacino film “Danny Collins.”

“Life Itself” also stars Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Mandy Patinkin, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film was part of an intense bidding war between Universal, Paramount, and Amazon, with Amazon Studios winning in the end.

The film is scheduled to be released September 21.
