‘Lift’ Trailer: Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, & Vincent D'Onofrio Star In A Netflix Heist Thriller

What would you do to become rich beyond your wildest dreams? A crew of thieves attempt their biggest score in “Lift.” This determined team is led by mastermind Cyrus Whitaker, played by Kevin Hart; it’s up to Whitaker to keep them on track, but nothing ever goes as planned. The result is a fast-paced ride that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. “Lift” comes from director F. Gary Gray and screenwriter Daniel Kunka. Gray is a well-known director, helming a myriad of popular titles like “Friday,” “Law Abiding Citizen,” and “The Fate of the Furious.” His experience with high-octane projects doesn’t stop with the ‘Fast and Furious’; Gray also directed 2003’s “The Italian Job” — an update of the 1969 film. Both ‘Italian Job’ and ‘Furious’ proved the filmmaker was at home in the action genre.

Beyond Hart, the project looks to a group of well-known actors. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, and Jacob Batalon round out the cast — with Jean Reno and Sam Worthington making appearances. Recently, Mbatha-Raw has been a standout on season two of “Loki” — returning as Ravonna Renslayer. Worthington is another important addition thanks to his performance in “Avatar” and its sequel, both becoming history-making projects at the box office.

The film’s official synopsis:

An international heist crew led by Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart) races to lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane at 40,000 feet.
