Does death run in the family? A college student is about to find out in “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” The popular horror franchise is back for a brand new installment. Like other entries, it features a protagonist intent on stopping the inevitable. This time, the stakes are even higher as an entire family faces horrific fates. Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky are co-directors of the project.
Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor co-wrote the film — from a story by Jon Watts, Busick, and Taylor. Watts is an incredibly intriguing addition to the credits. Many know him for helming various “Spider-Man” blockbusters, including “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” but his work extends to the horror film “Clown.”
‘Bloodlines’ sees a new group of stars face off against death. Kaitlyn Santa Juana comes to the project after previously appearing on episodes of “The Flash” and starring in 2022’s “The Friendship Game.” Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, and Anna Lore also star — with Brec Bassinger rounding out the cast.
The upcoming film additionally says goodbye to a beloved actor as Tony Todd returns for one of his final roles. He was a highlight of the ‘Destination’ franchise, and many fans are waiting to see how the project will address his loss. Sadly, Todd died in 2024.
The film’s official synopsis:
Plagued by a recurring violent nightmare, a college student returns home to find the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from the horrific fate that inevitably awaits them.
