Maybe the success of “Pam & Tommy” will rub off on James’s next project. Deadline reports that James will star alongside Willem Dafoe in “Finalmente L’alba,” or, “Finally Dawn,” an Italian indie drama from director Saverio Constanzo. Plot details are slim at the moment, but the film’s production gets underway in Italy this month. It’s Constanzo’s first film since 2014’s “Hungry Hearts.”
Other recent credits for James include Netflix‘s “The Dig” and “Mama Mia! Here We Go Again!.” She also recently wrapped “Providence,” an ensemble drama with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Himesh Patel.
As for Mr. Dafoe, he’s his usual workhorse self. He has four upcoming films on his slate, most notably Yorgos Lanthimos‘ “Poor Things.” The other three are Patricia Arquette‘s “Gonzo Girl,” Vasili Katsoupis‘ “Inside,” and “Dead For A Dollar,” Walter Hill‘s first film in five years. He also recently starred in Robert Eggers‘ “The Northman” and Marvel‘s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
So, what’s the story behind “Finalmente L’alba”? More details will emerge about this project after it wraps production.
