With the premiere of “Lisey’s Story” arriving in June, Apple TV+ has provided a series of first-look photos to tease the upcoming Stephen King adaptation. The drama series, much like the book it was adapted from tells the story of Lisey Landon (played by Julianne Moore in the series), the wife of a famous novelist. Her life is totally thrown into chaos after unsettling events begin happening a couple of years following the death of her husband. This situation forces Lisey to reckon with her memories from her marriage that she has blocked from her mind.

Joining Julianne Moore in the cast are Clive Owen, Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Ron Cephas Jones, and Sung Kang. As mentioned, the new series is based on the Stephen King book, but clearly, this is far from the same horror we see in projects like “It” or “The Stand.” However, in a rare move, King is actually the person who wrote the scripts for each episode. Adding even more intrigue to the series is the fact that Pablo Larraín, who is best known for his biopic, “Jackie,” as well as his most recent film, “Ema,” is on board as the series director.
