“The Great Gatsby” promo train keeps rolling, and if the posters, trailers and various TV spots haven’t been enough, the soundtrack has been coming with some heat, with a six minute preview dropping yesterday with the only full song to be unveiled so far being the unlistenable Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock with “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got).” Well, now something a lot more pleasant has arrived.
Few singers out there have a set of pipes like those belonging to Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, and she puts them to good use on “Over The Love.” You can now take a full listen to the tune, which mostly plays its hand as a ballad but saves the requisite soaring heights we usually expect from Florence for the outro. So, yes, we approve over any Fergie-centered club banger any day of the week. And the tune also underscores the fact that no emotional moment will be spared a soundtrack cut in Baz Luhrmann‘s film.
The soundtrack for “The Great Gatsby” drops on May 7th with the movie coming on May 10th. [Pretty Much Amazing]
