Look Into My Eyes: 9 Clips From Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows' With Johnny Depp & Eva Green

nullWe've had an inkling thus far that "Dark Shadows" would be a return to form for both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, whose batting average over their last few films — "Alice In Wonderland," "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" — has been inconsistent at best. But this latest, extensive look at the movie seems to indicate they are back on track in a big way.

Nine clips from "Dark Shadows" have landed online, serving up the best taste yet of the upcoming horror/comedy/genre mash-up. Depp looks perfectly at home as Barnabas Collins, even if his ressurection in 1972 leaves him slightly at odds with how things have changed (particularly when it comes to "balls" and "birthing hips"). Michelle Pfeiffer reminds us why she's such an underrated talent, coming on strong in her scenes here as the family matriarch with ulterior motives. And Eva Green is both beautiful (as always) and seductively dangerous as the woman who turned Barnabas in the first place, and still desires him. Overall, the tone here looks perfectly balanced (there's some pretty funny stuff in here) and Burton seems to be very much in command of the material that fits so clearly into his wheelhouse.

"Dark Shadows" opens on May 11th. Watch below. [via ONTD]
