Louis Leterrier Wants In On 'The Avengers,' Edward James Olmo Joins 'The Green Hornet'

Louis Leterrier has revealed his dreams for “The Avengers” and it’s a huge pie-in-the-sky idea that will never happen.

“[I want] to work with Joe Johnston and Kenneth Branagh and Jon Favreau and make like a triptych. We do four movies. We release them one a month for the summer. Or even every two weeks or three weeks. And the whole summer would be Avengers summer. So we do it the way they make television shows. One story arc but told in installments by different directors.” Nice try Louis. We highly doubt Marvel will be letting him anywhere near this one. The director also added that he has seen pre-production on Johnston’s “The First Avenger: Captain America” and described it as “Raiders Of The Lost Ark” meets “The Rocketeer” and “Saving Private Ryan.” Why do people persist with comparing upcoming films to classics? What good does it ultimately do? [L.A. Times]

Edward James Olmos of “Battlestar Galatica” fame has told journos that he has joined Michel Gondry’s “The Green Hornet.” The actor joins the likes of Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, Nicolas Cage and Jay Chou in a currently unknown role. [HollywoodSnitch]

A new low? Jeremy Piven apparently made an appearance in the “Big Brother” house to promote his new film “The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard.” Haha, seriously? Well, he did appear on the WWE earlier last week, so we guess he really has no shame. [Movieline]

New footage from “The Time Traveller’s Wife,” starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, features in a new music video for a new song by – unfortunately – Lifehouse. It’s essentially just another trailer, but this time with about 100x more cheese and cornball layered overtop. [Myspace]
