Love & Hate Collide In New Trailer For Tom Ford's 'Nocturnal Animals' Starring Jake Gyllenhaal & Amy Adams

Not many found much to love in Tim Burton‘s drama flop “Big Eyes,” but for filmmaker Tom Ford, he saw something in Amy Adams‘ Golden Globe-winning performance that made her the right fit for his upcoming “Nocturnal Animals.”

“I have obviously always admired Amy as an actress,” Ford told EW. “But after working with her, she is breathtaking. I cast her because, after watching ‘Big Eyes,’ I found how much she could say with just the smallest emotions. And of course this character is reading a book for most of the film. So Amy’s face had to telegraph everything that’s going on. Her ability to do that, in that respect, makes her maybe the strongest actress working today.”

Also starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, and Armie Hammer, the movie based on the Austin Wright’s novel “Tony and Susan” and follows an art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband Edward’s novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale. Sounds like a great cast, meets great material and an ambitious director.

“Nocturnal Animals” opens in limited release on November 18th and goes wide on December 9th.
