As seen in the trailer, “Love Hurts” tells the story of Marvin Gable, a realtor with a secret past. Though everyone in his life knows and loves him because he’s such a nice, mild-mannered guy, he’s hiding a secret. And when people from his past come back to haunt him, Marvin has to embrace his former life one more time and kick some ass.
The film stars Ke Huy Quan, Ariana DeBose, Daniel Wu, Sean Astin, Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Rhys Darby, Marshawn Lynch, and André Eriksen. “Love Hurts” comes from director JoJo Eusebio. Considering this is an 87North production, you probably won’t be shocked to know that Eusebio is a former stunt coordinator-turned-filmmaker. That seems to be the way the production company works.
“Love Hurts” arrives in theaters on February 7. You can watch the new trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Quan stars as Marvin Gable, a realtor working the Milwaukee suburbs, where ‘For Sale’ signs bloom. Gable receives a crimson envelope from Rose (Oscar® winner Ariana DeBose; West Side Story, Argylle), a former partner-in-crime that he had left for dead. She’s not happy. Now, Marvin is thrust back into a world of ruthless hitmen, filled with double-crosses and open houses turned into deadly warzones. With his brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu; Tomb Raider, Warcraft), a volatile crime lord, hunting him, Marvin must confront the choices that haunt him and the history he never truly buried.
