Update 2: Madonna’s publicist has told MTV “that the claims are completely false.” That’s probably for the best anyway.
Update: A reader has pointed us toward Gossip Cop who are reporting that Ewan McGregor is not in the film despite the initial report from Perez Hilton. The site seems to have a particular gripe with Hilton so we’re not sure what the actual deal is; we’ll wait to see what happens once cameras start rolling.
Madonna continues to put the pieces in place for her forthcoming period biopic “W.E.” and it seems one of them is coming from her own home.
Madonna has apparently cast her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes in a small part in the upcoming film that also stars Vera Farmiga, Abbie Cornish and Ewan McGregor. The high concept film is dual-narrative story of the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson — which led to the royal’s abdication — and the contemporary story centering on a woman, Wally Winthrop, with romantic problems of her own in addition to an obsession with the life of the Duchess of Windsor.
We like the talent attached but are wary if Madonna can pull off such a high concept film, especially after her poorly received debut, “Filth & Wisdom.” The film will go in front of cameras this summer in the south of France and New York.
