Here’s an official synopsis for “Magic Farm,” courtesy of The Match Factory:
A film crew working for an edgy media company travels to Argentina to profile a local musician, but their ineptitude leads them into the wrong country. As the crew collaborates with locals to fabricate a trend, unexpected connections blossoms while a pervasive health crisis looms unacknowledged in the background.
Along with Sevigny, “Magic Farm” also stars Alex Wolff, Joe Appolonio, Camila del Campo, Simon Rex, and Ulman. Valeria Lois and Guillermo Jacubowicz round out the main cast.
Ulman writes “Magic Farm” in addition to directing. Producers on the film include Alex Hughes, Riccardo Maddaloso, and Eugene Kotlyarenkob.
As noted earlier, “Magic Farm” had its world premiere at Sundance last month (read The Playlist’s review here) and has its International premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on February 16. MUBI will handle the film’s North American and U.K. release later this year. The Match Factory is handling sales for all other territories.
