Anytime the guys from “The State” — David Wain, Paul Rudd and Ken Marino — get together, we pay attention, and with their latest project “Wanderlust” getting its final pieces in place, the comedy is shaping up to be one we have high hopes for.
Malin Akerman has joined Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston, Lauren Ambrose and Justin Theroux. in the Wain/Marino scribed “Wanderlust” (the with the former directing). The film which is being produced by comedy heavyweight Judd Apatow “centers on a married couple (Aniston, Rudd) who try escaping modern society by moving from New York” to a commune. Not word yet on Ackerman’s role in the film.
As usual from the talent behind the project, we expect a freewheeling film. We haven’t yet heard when shooting is set to begin but with announcements coming quickly, it should be any day now. [Variety]
