Got a Tip?

Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Headline Phase 5 Disney+ Shows [Comic-Con]

Ever since the launch of Disney+, fans have wondered how the Marvel would juggle their theatrical releases against their shorter television shows. If you thought the television shows would be a sideshow for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 4 proved you wrong. Shows like “WandaVision” and “Loki” helped set the stage for some of the biggest events in the movies, and even more standalone shows — like “Ms. Marvel” and the upcoming “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” — have set the stage for big screen crossovers.

So when Kevin Feige took the stage at Comic-Con this weekend to announce Phase 5, it was no surprise that Disney+ would play a big role in their future plans. While fans already knew that shows like “Secret Invasion,” “Echo,” and “Ironheart” would all hit the streamer sometime in 2023, we now know that these are solidly part of the next phase. The biggest announcement was the official announcement of “Daredevil: Born Again,” which would claim the last spot in the release calendar (Spring 2024) and feature a whopping 18 episodes, pretty much double or more than what most Marvel TV series attempt.

The show will build on Charlie Cox’s earlier appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Echo,” and his now-teased “She-Hulk” role. Disney+ also announced that Vincent D’Onofrio would reprise his role — or a version of his role, given the nature of the multiverse — as Kingpin for the series. In a break from Marvel’s preference for short series, “Daredevil: Born Again” will last a total of 18 episodes.

Here’s the full breakdown of Phase 5 Disney+ release dates:

Secret Invasion” will premiere sometime in spring 2023.

Echo” will premiere in summer 2023.

The second season of “Loki” will premiere in the summer of 2023.

Ironheart” will premiere in fall 2023.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos” will premiere in winter 2023.

Daredevil: Born Again” will wrap up the Phase 5 shows in spring 2024.

And with all this news here, now is the time for rampant speculation! Will “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” offer more multiverse madness? Does “Daredevil: Born Again” suggest an alternate universe version of our favorite characters? Given what’s happened in Phase 4 to date, the sky is the limit.
