'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Season 3 Trailer: Midge Hits The Road In The New Season Of Amazon's Acclaimed Comedy

This December, Midge Maisel is hitting the road. And we’re all invited. Critical darling “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has dropped the newest trailer for its upcoming third season.

Season 2 of the beloved Amazon show saw 1950s housewife-turned comedian Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) accept a gig as the opening act on a musician’s tour, all while her love life is up in shambles. Variety reported the brief season three synopsis that show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino teased: “[Midge’s] journey this year that we’ve set out for her is the first time she’s setting out as a road comic, it’s the first time she’s getting paid for this, it’s the first time she’s going to have consistency, and she’s dealing with audiences that aren’t her people.”

Sherman-Palladino also told Variety that the show is getting bigger this year. With two Golden Globes, five Emmys and a third season confirmed before the second even aired, it’s hard to imagine how “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” can get any bigger. But they’re going to try.

Season 2 saw a sweet story arc with recurring guest star Zachary Levi. Season 3 ups the ante and invites “This is Us” star, the award-winning and professional tearjerker Sterling K. Brown to join the cast in a still undisclosed role. No word yet on if Levi will be expected to reprise his role in the upcoming season.

Scene stealer Alex Borstein returns as Midge’s manager and friend Susie. Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle also make their return as Midge’s parents. It looks like we can also expect Jane Lynch to reprise her season 2 role as Midge’s nemesis and fellow female comedian, Sophie Lennon.

With the way the last few seasons have gone, we should all likely expect to hear an announcement of season 4 of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” within the next few months
