Look, I consider myself a heterosexual man that is happily married. That said, there’s no denying that Michael B. Jordan is a beautiful human. (And the fact that he also starred in “Black Panther” only adds to that, but I digress.) So, even though I don’t have the same fantasies the woman in the new Amazon commercial does about Jordan, I get it.
With the Super Bowl around the corner, it’s that time of year when the big companies begin to throw out their best ads to gain that watercooler chatter. And Amazon has decided the best way to promote its Alexa assistant service is by giving the boring little box Michael B. Jordan’s body and imagine a world where your automated assistant is a ripped A-list heartthrob. As you might expect, it leads to some truly awkward situations between a woman and her husband.
Why is Michael B. Jordan hocking wares for Amazon? Well, it might have something to do with the fact that his upcoming action-thriller, “Without Remorse,” was recently purchased by Amazon Studios and will have its debut on Prime Video sometime this year. Prior to Amazon purchasing the rights to the film, Jordan had hopes that “Without Remorse” could be his next big franchise. So, he clearly wants to do everything in his power to bring attention to the film, and there is a pretty obvious link to the film in the commercial, where a bus drives by promoting the thriller.
But honestly, watching this trailer makes you wonder how much more you would use Alexa in your home if it was kept inside the body of an uber-attractive hunk? I can understand the desire to cook more and hear audiobooks while relaxing. Makes total sense.
