In a world where "Twilight" fan fiction becomes "Fifty Shades Of Grey," which in turn had Hollywood all hot and bothered to pick up the rights, we suppose we shouldn't be surprised. But using geek ideas to help brainstorm an upcoming tentpole doesn't sound like a good idea. But then again, when it comes to "Transformers 4," the franchise kind of has nowhere else to go but up at this point.
Michael Bay, it seems, reads the interwebs (or has an assistant or Victoria's Secret model read it for him) and as he wraps up "Pain and Gain," and as he prepares to once again make robots go boom boom in "Transformers 4," he's getting inspiration from a bunch of dorks. And it may involve bringing back a previously rumored lead. To the blog!
I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter.
Who knows what dark geek corner on the Internet Bay fell down into, but it seems he's softening on his position that his "Pain And Gain" star Mark Wahlberg wasn't going to be in "Transformers 4." Maybe he'll be Shia LaBeouf's long lost uncle, or Josh Duhamel's brother or Optimus Prime's Dad. Who knows! The possibilities of "internet chatter" are endless, and frightening.
