Michael Keaton & Seth Rogen To Star In Dark Comedy ‘King Of The Jungle’

If you’re a person of a certain age, you probably remember McAfee Antivirus software that your computer would always have to run in the background. However, you probably don’t remember what happened to the company’s founder, John McAfee. Well, thanks to Michael Keaton and Seth Rogen, you’re going to find out, as both have signed on to tell the story of the tech millionaire and his incredibly strange life.

Deadline reports that Keaton and Rogen have signed on for the dark comedy “King of the Jungle,” which aims to tell the story of John McAfee and his life after he quick the tech industry and moved into the jungles of Belize. After putting Silicon Valley in his rearview mirror, McAfee created his own sort of mini-colony in the jungle, where his paranoia took over and he surrounded himself with guns and sexual escapades.

“King of the Jungle” will star Keaton as the titular “king” McAfee and Rogen will portray the Wired journalist that was assigned to interview the tech magnate and learns all about what’s really going on in the jungles of Belize.

The film comes from directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who are best known for their films “I Love You Phillip Morris” and “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.” They also have been directing episodes of “This is Us.” Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are writing the script.

Originally, “King of the Jungle” was being shopped around with Johnny Depp attached to star, but perhaps thankfully, he moved on and Keaton stepped aboard with Rogen.

There’s no release date for “King of the Jungle.”
