'Monsters: The Lyle & Erik Menendez Story' Teaser: Season 2 Of Ryan Murphy's True Crime Series Comes To Netflix In 2024

Though it has the wonky title of “DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” it shouldn’t have been forgotten that the mega-popular Netflix series is the first season of what is expected to become Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology series, “Monster.” Well, since ‘DAHMER’ took off in such a big way, Netflix has already announced the next season of “Monster,” err “Monsters.”

According to Netflix, the next season of “Monster” is actually called, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” As the title suggests, the new entry in the anthology series is following the highly publicized Menendez double murders, when Lyle and Erik Menendez killed their parents. The case would go on the capture the public’s attention thanks to the court case that would follow. The Menendez trial would be the first major public tabloid trial since O.J. Simpson’s murder trial, which was already the subject of a Ryan Murphy anthology series. The producer sure does love his true crime, huh?

As mentioned, ‘Monsters’ comes on the heels of ‘DAHMER,’ which surprised everyone and became one of the biggest hits in Netflix history when it was released in late-2022. That series follows the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the most infamous serial killers in American history. By comparison, the Menendez story isn’t nearly as famous as Dahmer, but the story has a completely different angle considering the brothers are not serial killers, and the interest in the case came from the public spectacle surrounding it.

Casting, directors, and other details are unknown at this time. We also don’t have an exact release date for “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” but Netflix is teasing a 2024 release. You can watch a quick teaser for the show below:
