You’ve heard all the conspiracy theories about the Moon landing, right? Stanley Kubrick directed it and left clues in “The Shining.” Some even believe the Earth is flat and we’re all in some big domed experiment. Well, Roland Emmerich would like you to believe a new theory in the film “Moonfall”—what if the Moon is hollow and hides a dark secret?
As seen in the trailer for “Moonfall,” the new disaster film from the man who made big budget disaster flicks like “Independence Day,” “2012,” and “The Day After Tomorrow” tells the story about a government secret that could lead to the sixth great extinction of life on Earth. You see, back in 1969, when Apollo 11 went “dark” for a couple of minutes, the expedition to the Moon was actually doing a top-secret mission exploring the hollow center of the closest rock to our world. Now, it appears some sort of alien life is ready to kill the people of Earth because…reasons. You gotta buy the ticket to see the film, I suppose.

Honestly, if you’re a film fan and you hear the name Roland Emmerich, you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. It’s going to be a very expensive film with lots and lots of destruction and a beautiful cast to bring it all to life. And for “Moonfall,” Emmerich has enlisted two very attractive leads to save the world, Patrick Wilson and Halle Berry. Joining those fine folks are John Bradley, Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor, Carolina Bartczak, and Donald Sutherland.

Here’s the synopsis:
In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson, “Midway”) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley, “Game of Thrones”) believes her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.
