How far will a mother go to seek perceived revenge for the death of her son? That’s the question at the heart of the Hitchcock-ian thriller, “Mothers’ Instinct.”
As seen in the trailer, “Mothers’ Instinct” follows the story of two women who are close neighbors and friends. Their bond is shattered after the son of one of the women dies after a tragic accident. The other mother then begins to believe that she is being targeted for revenge, even though she seemingly couldn’t have done anything to prevent the accident.

The film stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Josh Charles, and Anders Danielson Lie. “Mothers’ Instinct” is directed by Benoit Delhomme. The new drama is the directorial debut of the filmmaker, who is best known for his work as a cinematographer. He worked on films such as “Free State of Jones,” “Minamata,” and “At Eternity’s Gate.”
“Mothers’ Instinct” debuts in theaters on July 26 before hitting VOD on August 13th. You can watch the trailer below.

Set in the early 60s, best friends and neighbors Alice (Chastain) and Celine (Hathaway) both live an idyllic traditional lifestyle with manicured lawns, successful husbands, and sons of the same age. Life’s perfect harmony is suddenly shattered after a tragic accident. Guilt, suspicion and paranoia combine to unravel their sisterly-bond and a psychological battle of wills begins as the maternal instinct reveals its darker side.
