Got a Tip?

‘Mythbusters’ Prove That Jack Could Have Lived In ‘Titanic’

null"When Jack puts Rose on the raft, then he tries to get on the raft. He's not an idiot, he doesn't want to die. And the raft sinks and kind of flips. So it's clear that there's only enough buoyancy available for one person. So he makes a decision to let her be that person instead of taking them both down," director James Cameron recently told IGN. To which the dudes from "Mythbusters" say…Oh, really?

Adam and Jamie have now given fuel to the folks on the internet who are still arguing fifteen years later about whether or not Leonardo DiCaprio's Jack really had to sacrifice himself to save Kate Winslet's Rose. And apparently, his death was in vain. In a recent episode of "Mythbusters" the duo prove that if they had just a lifejacket underneath the plank, it could have theoretically kept them both afloat. Damn you James Cameron!

Anyway, it's a movie not a science experiment and one could argue that anyone in actual peril may not be thinking that clearly. And if anything, at least with the ending as it now stands, Cameron spared us a possible "Titanic 2: Iceberg's Revenge." Take a look at the "Mythbusters" clip below. [THR
