While the adventures of John Constantine failed to capture the popular imagination on the big screen in the 2005 movie starring Keanu ReevesDC Comics is giving it another whirl on the small screen. Last fallWarner Bros. TV entrusted David Goyer with producing the potential series along with Daniel Cerone (“The Mentalist”), and they must like what they’ve been seeing.

NBC has ordered up a pilot for the show that has been penned by Cerone. Exact details are still vague but we reckon with things now firmly moving, an eye will be turned toward casting and more info will emerge about the scope and vision of the show. And it’s another in DC’s growing movement in movies and on TV, with news yesterday that the Fox series “Gotham” will track the rise of Bruce Wayne from kid to hero and include a gallery of characters and villains from the comic series. It looks like pretty soon, “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” won’t be the only comic game in town on TV. [Variety]

Meanwhile, Louis C.K. is making good on his recently inked development deal over at FXZach Galifianakis has signed on to star in an untitled comedy show, co-created alongside Louis C.K., who also a co-writer. As for any other info, it’s being kept secret for now. But we’re mostly excited to see what the pairing of Galifianakis and Louis C.K. can cook up, presumably in the same kind of environment that spawned “Louie.” [THR]
