Freida Pinto And Logan Marshall-Green Set To Star In Netflix Home-Invasion Thriller 'Intrusion'

Freida Pinto and Logan Marshall-Green are set to star in a new Netflix thriller titled “Intrusion,” because there’s at least someone who is still announcing and releasing movies these days.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, announcing that Netflix will release “Intrusion” from a script by Chris Sparling who wrote the thriller “Buried” and the upcoming disaster movie “Greenland.” Adam Salky will direct the film, after previously directing dramas like “I Smile Back” and “Dare.” Sparling will produce the film along with Kyle Benn via Creator Media Entertainment, Josh Weinstock for Sea Smoke Entertainment, Alexandra Milchan for EMJAG Productions, Matthew Myers for Outlaw Productions and Russell Hollander.

In the film, Pinto and Marshall-Green will “play a husband and wife who move to a small town and suffer a home invasion that leaves the wife traumatized and suspicious that those around her might not be who they seem.”

Based on that description, there’s cause for being worried and also a bit of celebration. On the one hand, another home-invasion thriller where it’s the wife who ends up traumatized, especially a thriller written and directed by men, doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. And yet, we’ve seen some great home-invasion thrillers in recent years, like “Hush,” “Mother!” or even last year’s remake of “Black Christmas” which proved that there are still few things are terrifying as someone breaking into your home.

That being said, the bit about people around not being who they seem is interesting, because it suggests an “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” style of story which could make this an interesting mix of genres.
