Jamie Foxx Says Electro Won't Be Blue In Marvel's 'Spider-Man 3'

One of the most bizarre superhero news in a while was the report that arguably the unlikeliest of Spider-Man villains would crossover from Sony to the MCU — Jamie Foxx‘s Electro. Well, it seems Foxx himself confirmed the news, and he is also hinting at a very different version of the villain when he appears in “Spider-Man 3” specifically, his skin won’t be blue now.

The news was shared by Foxx himself in an Instagram post, which he since deleted. saying “Tell Spider let’s run it back!” he wrote. “Super excited to part of the new marvel Spider-Man new installment… can’t wait for y’all to check the new one. And I won’t be blue in this one!! But a thousand percent badass!!!”

Now, in case you don’t remember the tragic story of Electro, he was a bit of a nerd who worked at Oscorp. He becomes obsessed with Spider-Man after the superhero gave him some words of encouragement during a random encounter on the streets, until he decides to go full evil because Spider-Man can’t remember his name the next time they meet. Oh, and his skin turns blue after being bitten by a bunch of electric eels.

Foxx’s post seems to indicate one of two possibilities. This could be an entirely different Electro, maybe one sporting a more comics-accurate costume — which would make sense given that Electro very much died during “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” The other option would involve the multiverse ala “Into the Spider-Verse” or the upcoming “The Flash.” That Foxx deleted the post could mean that he was either mistaken about his skin not being blue in this movie, or that Marvel/Sony didn’t like him leaking information this early.
