Got a Tip?

New Clip, Trailer, Poster & Pic From Teen Superhero Film ‘Chronicle’ Continues To Intrigue

blankHitting theaters in just under a month, not much is known about "Chronicle." The film's pretty nifty trailer took the web by surprise last fall, promising something much more involving than the found-footage-superhero-movie logline that was being thrown around suggested. The film takes a familiar genre trope — teens discover they have superpowers, yawn — and actually twists it just enough to make it feel new. Far from being emo-sad about how estranged they are, these teens are initially thrilled to be blessed with unexpected powers. But then, of course, things take a turn for the dark.

Well, the marketing is getting kicked up a notch as a nice image (see above), clip, brief trailer and Brazilian poster have all been unveiled in the past couple of days. And yes, this still looks pretty involving. The highlight of the bunch is the clip, in which one of the young kids finds himself showing a bit of evil when he makes a spider the target of his new found skills. Creepy stuff. Meanwhile, the 60 second trailer is mostly cut from what you've seen before, but does offer some brief glimpses of new footage, most notably of the boys using the powers to look up girls' skirts. They are teenagers after all.

Anyway, all this is below along with an explosiony poster. "Chronicle" opens on February 3rd. [MTV/STYD/IGN/STYD]
