Today is April 1st. Some folks are coming down from Easter chocolate hangovers and a good chunk of the internet are trading April Fools’ Day gags while Hollywood seems to be taking it a bit easy. So forgive the random mash-up of images, but that’s just the way things are going today…
First up, Fox Searchlight has dropped a couple new pics from Sundance hit “The Way, Way Back.” The indie shingle snapped up the movie in one of the biggest deals at Park City this year and its credentials speak for themselves. The coming-of-age tale marks the directorial debut of “The Descendants” writers Jim Rash and Nat Faxon and re-teams “Little Miss Sunshine” stars Steve Carell and Toni Colette as well as bringing Sam Rockwell, Rob Corddry and Maya Rudolph. We called it “a crowd pleaser…that entertains and still has a personal stamp” and should be a nice summer treat when it hits on July 5th.
Meanwhile, “The Raid 2: Berandal” doesn’t have a release date yet, but wants to keep up the excitement even as its filming. With a bunch of stills having dropped already when cameras started rolling in February, another snap has hit and it’s appropriately bloody. Details are a bit tight on this one, but we know the story kicks off two hours after the end of the first film and will find Rama continuing on his quest to uncover corruption in his own police force as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate. Check out pics below.
