The cast of David O. Russell‘s next film is coming into focus. Deadline reports that John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn, and Sienna Miller are the latest to join “Madden” over at Amazon MGM Studios. Shooting starts on the movie next month, so these may be the last big names to be announced for the ensemble, but stay tuned on that.

The trio join the previously announced Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage, with Cage playing one of Football’s most iconic names. Here’s who everyone else will play in the biopic: Bale will play former Raiders own Al Davis; Mulaney is Trip Hawkins, founder of EA Sports; Hahn plays Madden’s wife, Virginia; and Miller is Davis’ wife, Carol.
Russell writes and directs “Madden,” about how the Raiders’ Super Bowl-winning coach became the namesake for the popular EA Sports football game “Madden NFL.” The game franchise’s popularity caused Madden to go on to become one of Football’s biggest broadcaster. Todd Black produces the pic via Escape Artists with partners Jason Blumenthal and Steven Tisch. Other producers include Russell, Jonathan Shukat and Matthew Budman. David Bloomfield executive produces through Escape Artists. Also of note: Cambron Clark wrote an earlier draft of the script Russell took over.
“SNL” alum Mulaney currently hosts the Netflix talk show “Everyone’s Live With John Mulaney.” The three-time Emmy-winning stand-up comedian is now a full-fledged multi-hyphenate, with acting credits “The Bear” and “Bupkis.” “Madden” will be his first live-action film role, although he’s done voice work in the “Spider-Verse” movies and “Puss In Boots: The Last Wish,” among others.
As for Hahn, her recent credits include “Agatha All Along” and Apple TV+‘s “The Studio.” Film-wise, her last live-action role was in “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” in 2022.
Miller’s recent credits include Kevin Costner‘s “Horizon” films and the final season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Other upcoming projects include the still-untitled “Jack Ryan” movie over at Amazon MGM Studios with John Krasinski.
Expect “Madden” in theaters sometime in 2026.
