First Look: Charlie Hunnam & Jude Law In Guy Ritchie’s ‘King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword’

Guy Ritchie‘s medieval blockbuster has been on quite a journey. The film has gone through a title change; originally known as “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur,” it’s now being called, “King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.” The film was originally due to drop this summer, and was pushed to next year, and the picture was actually the focus of an elaborate cover and set visit from EW last year. But it looks like they are re-starting the promo machine, as the magazine has another story on the movie, and dropped the first images from the flick starring Charlie Hunnam as the titular hero, and Jude Law as the baddie, Vortigern.

At one time there were boasts this was going to launch a six-movie franchise, but that talk seems to have quieted down, with the chatter now about how this King Arthur is going to be more gritty or something. I guess it isn’t a surprise given that Ritchie turned Sherlock Holmes into a bare-knuckle boxer.

“He’s a bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor,” Hunnam explained about his character. “There’s definitely a harder edge than people would imagine.”

“King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword” opens on March 24th.
