So…a trailer soon? With the film said to be hitting theaters in three months, there was been dead silence around the somewhat–troubled comic reboot "Dredd." No trailers and only a smattering of images, a few more which have now landed online.
Directed by Pete Travis with Karl Urban as the helmeted hero, Lena Headey as the villain and Olivia Thirlby and Domhnall Gleeson rounding out the supporting cast, this one was initially promoted with a lot of buzz, promising fans a gritty, hard-R movie that will be so faithful to the source material that we won't even see Urban's face. Add to that a script by Alex Garland ("28 Days Later…," "Sunshine") and it seemed like everything was in place for something awesome. But with rumors of behind-the-scenes drama and basically nothing much from anybody involved in a long, long time, we're a bit worried how this will turn out.
Though announced last summer for a September 21, 2012 release date, we wonder when we're actually going to see some footage. But with Comic-Con right around the corner, maybe that will provide the grand lift-off for the film. Check out a few new images and a new poster from "Dredd" below. [JoBlo/SuperHeroHype/JoBlo]
