New Poster For 'Les Miserables' Doesn't Have Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe Or Anne Hathaway On It

nullEven if you sort of didn't care about "Les Miserables," it was hard not get excited about the movie when that behind-the-scenes featurette dropped last week, giving a pretty impressive look at the scale of the production Tom Hooper and co. are putting together. Most compelling was the footage of the cast shooting the movie as they sing live, instead of lip syncing to a backing track. It's a ballsy move from Hooper, but it's hard not to admire the helmer who could've picked a much easier sort of project to follow up his Oscar winning "The King's Speech" with.

And while we'll have to wait until Christmas Day to see the fruits of his labor, a new poster has arrived for the film. And while we get putting young Cosette (played by Isabelle Allen) on the one sheet continues the marketing tradition that has been laid out by the musical, basic marketing 101 suggets that putting at least one of your three major stars — Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe or Anne Hathaway — on there is probably a good idea too. Granted, we're still early in the game and we're sure Universal has a big campaign in store for what is, at the moment, the biggest Oscar contender.
