New Storyboards Reveal Original Ending Of ‘Jurassic Park’

It’s been almost 25 years since Steven Spielberg’s classic “Jurassic Park” hit theaters. Bringing dinosaurs to life like never before, the film went on to be a huge box office and critical success, while also spawning a few subpar sequels, including the recent “Jurassic World.” While we may never get a great sequel, fans have recently been given a new look at what could have been.

In a series of previously unreleased storyboards from “Jurassic Park,” people are getting a chance to see an alternate ending to the classic film. While everyone knows how the original film ends with everyone getting on a helicopter and escaping to safety, the proposed alternate ending would have included a big action scene featuring Dr. Grant barely escaping on the helicopter after being chased by the T-Rex.

The storyboards were released by Jurassic Time on Facebook (via JoBlo) with the following description:

“From Phil Tippett’s Jurassic Park Early Sequence Storyboard Binder, here is a first-look at the rare storyboards for a thrilling helicopter rescue sequence set to be at the film’s finale. This is an early look of the first version (Version A) of the sequence, and was not scripted at this stage immediately after Crichton’s final draft. It later became adapted into Malia Scotch Marmo’s screenplay, but with numerous alterations.”
