New 'The English' Trailer: Emily Blunt's Limited Western Series Hits Prime Video On November 11

Before Emily Blunt hits the big screen again next year in Christopher Nolan‘s “Oppenheimer,” she heads out West in “The English,” a new limited series for Prime Video. But this isn’t a typical Western drama, but instead, one that gives the genre’s chase narrative and revenge themes a macabre twist.

“The English” stars Blunt as Lady Cornelia Locke, an English woman who teams up with Chaske Spencer‘s Pawnee scout Eli Whipp to cross the American frontier’s violent landscape. Where are they headed? The new town of Hoxem, Wyoming, where an unsolved string of murders plagues the community. Who’s responsible for the crimes? It has something to do with Locke and Whipp’s shared past that neither is aware of…

Alongside Blunt and Spencer, “The English” boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Robert Marshall, Valerie Pachner, and Rafe SpallTom Hughes, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Malcolm Storry, and Steve Wall also star.  Nichola McAuliffe, Sule Rimi, Cristian Solimeno, and Nakota Kennedy round out the main cast.

Hugo Blick writes and directs “The English,” a co-production between Amazon Prime and BBC. Blick also serves as executive producer with Blunt and “Peaky Blinders” producer Greg Brenman. “Killing Eve” producer Colin Wratten serves as the show’s primary producer.  

“The English” has its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival this weekend before its November 10 UK premiere on BBC Two. Then the series premieres exclusively on Prime Video in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Nordics on November 11. Watch the new trailer for the series below.
