This summer has seen audiences turn away from tired franchise fare (with a couple of exceptions), and embrace movies that are saying something new. That, coupled with strong buzz out of SXSW, must have Universal feeling pretty good about the prospects for “Atomic Blonde.”
Starring Charlize Theron, directed by David Leitch (“John Wick“), and based on the graphic novel “The Coldest City” written by Antony Johnson and illustrated by Sam Hart, the actress plays an MI-6 agent dispatched to Berlin to find a double agent. And that’s all you need to know, and all that’s required in this movie which features no shortage of scenes of Theron kicking serious ass. Here’s the official synopsis:
