'No Hard Feelings' Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence Leads New Comedy

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (“Causeway“) looks to continue a run of comedic roles after Adam McKay‘s cheeky environmental apocalypse satire “Don’t Look Up” opposite Leonardo DiCaprio for Netflix. Next in line? “No Hard Feelings,” from director Gene Stupnitsky (“Good Boys“), and Sony Pictures has a new trailer for the awkward sex comedy.

The rest of the cast assembled to co-star with Lawrence consists of Andrew Feldman, Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, and Matthew Broderick. Stupnitsky and John Phillips (“Bad Grandpa“) co-pen the script, the former previously behind comedies such as “Bad Teacher,” “Year One,” and “Good Boys.”

Here’s the summer comedy’s official logline, courtesy of Sony:

On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie (Lawrence) discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college. To her surprise, Maddie soon discovers the awkward Percy is no sure thing.

Lawrence isn’t a stranger to the comedy genre with previous feature film roles in “Passengers,” “Joy,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” and the “X-Men” films allowing her varying comedic moments. It’ll be curious to see if the actress seeks out more comedic projects in the future as he’s part of the film’s producing team. When you consider that Lawrence has been choosing her projects carefully since exiting franchises like “Hunger Games” and “X-Men,” branching out with genre work isn’t the worst angle for the actress.

“No Hard Feelings” debuts in theaters on June 23. Watch the new trailer from Sony below.
