Got a Tip?

Noah Baumbach’s ‘Greenberg’ Moves Back 2 Weeks To March 26 Release Date

One of our most highly anticipated films of the year is Noah Baumbach’s upcoming, fifth directorial effort, “Greenberg.”*

It’s release date was March 12, but now it’s being moved back two weeks until March 26. This leads us to speculate that the film is targeting a SXSW U.S. premiere (and since its world premiere is now set for Berlin, it seems to make sense).

The film centers on an aimless, single 40-something New Yorker (Ben Stiller) who moves to Los Angeles to house sit for his brother and ends up in various romantic entanglements including falling for his sibling’s assistant (mumblecore actress Greta Gerwig).

Baubmach is one of our favorite American indie filmmakers and the director behind, “The Squid And The Whale” and criminally underrated “Margot At The Wedding” (which was perhaps a little too emotionally ugly for some, but man did it hit some amazingly honest notes, both savage and comedic).

The film also co-stars Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brie Larson, Juno Temple, Chris Messina and Mark Duplass. Brooklyn, electro-rockers LCD Soundsystem are writing original music for the film which has us extra psyched. *Don’t say six, “Highball” doesn’t really count.
