'Normal People' Trailer: Sally Rooney's Bestselling Novel Comes To Life On Hulu This April

Normal People” is definitely going to be a sexy show. I don’t say this just because the stars of the series are attractive, which they are, but just because, if the trailer is any indication, the Hulu/BBC drama is going to have quite a bit of sexual situations. Seriously, this trailer might get you a bit flustered.

In between the moments of passion, there is a plot that is teased in the trailer for the series. “Normal People” tells the story of two people that begin an on-again/off-again relationship that spans their young adult lives, from when they’re immature students up through the time in their lives when they’re supposed to start to have things figured out. However, even though these two meet at a point when they shouldn’t continue their sexy ways, the couple is inexplicably drawn to each other, which complicates their adult lives.

The series stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal. “Normal People” is based on the novel by Sally Rooney, who also co-wrote the series with Alice Birch and Mark O’Rowe. The drama features episodes directed by Lenny Abrahamson and Hettie McDonald. Abrahamson is probably best known as the helmer behind the Oscar-winning feature, “Room.” Most recently, he directed the 2018 film, “The Little Stranger.”

“Normal People” arrives on Hulu on April 29.

Here’s the synopsis:

Based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel, Normal People is an exquisite, modern love story about how one person can unexpectedly change another person’s life and about how complicated intimacy can be.
