Warner Bros. has slated “Ocean’s 8” to open on June 8, 2018 where it will face off against a “Transformers” spinoff centered on Bumblebee. ‘Ocean’s’ occupies the former date held by “Godzilla 2” which has now been pushed back to 2019, and it certainly shows big confidence from WB. The original “Ocean’s Eleven” trilogy did gangbusters business, and the ensemble assembled this time around is top-notch.
Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina are all starring in the movie, shooting this fall in New York City with Gary Ross (“Pleasantville,” “The Hunger Games,” “Free State Of Jones“) directing. Plot details are being kept secret, but its said to involve a heist at the Met Gala.
So, you haven’t plenty of time to think about which choice to make on June 8, 2018 but be sure to make the right one (ie. this movie). [THR]
