'One-Tenth Of A Millimeter Apart' Trailer: New Doc Celebrates 30 Years Of Wong Kar-Wai Films

We’re only in April, but 2021 has already turned into a big year for filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai. Not only has a number of his films been digitally restored in 4K and added to The Criterion Collection in a recent box set, but this year marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of Jet Tone Films, the filmmaker’s production company. And in honor of the milestone celebration, Jet Tone is releasing a 30-minute documentary celebrating the work of Wong by focusing on the moments that didn’t actually make it into the final cuts of his films.

As seen in the trailer for “One-Tenth of a Millimeter Apart,” the short doc will showcase some of the scenes that didn’t actually end up in the final cuts of films such as “Ashes of Time,” “Chungking Express,” “Fallen Angels,” “Happy Together,” “In the Mood for Love,” “2046,” “My Blueberry Nights,” and “The Grandmaster.” In addition, the film also features Wong talking about those scenes and films, while also talking about the creation and legacy of Jet Tone Films after 30 years. Speaking about the documentary (via The Film Stage), Wong said, “We give our regards to all that is past and was possible. At their closest, they would have been part of these films, but for one-tenth of a millimeter.”
