Hulu’s acclaimed crime-comedy “Only Murders In The Building” is returning for a fourth season, and the group of actors they assemble is becoming quite the collection of comedians. A new casting report from Variety has revealed that actor Kumail Nanjiani (“The Big Sick”) has nabbed a supporting role in the latest season of the series, which stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. He joins veteran comedian Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and Molly Shannon, who are also set to join the new season, with Oscar-winner Meryl Streep set to reprise her role from the third season.

If you’re somehow not familiar with the series, “Only Murders In The Building” focuses on a trio of nosy neighbors in an affluent apartment building in Manhattan who barely know or speak to each other until they discover they all follow the same true-crime podcast one faithful night. When people start dropping dead around them, they begin to start their own podcast alongside trying to solve the murders as well by actually investigating them in person, which leads to many comedic moments.
Nanjiani is no stranger to comedic television as the funny man started getting popular thanks to the HBO series “Silicon Valley” by Mike Judge (“King of The Hill”). Nanjiani previously worked with Hulu on the streaming miniseries “Welcome to Chippendales,” which earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. The latter project came together after Nanjinai got ripped for his Marvel Studios role in “The Eternals,” where he plays a Bollywood superstar and an immortal cosmic protector of humanity.
Nanjiani also has many movies in the pipeline and will be seen next in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” which releases on March 22, and co-stars “Only Murders In The Building” season three alumn Paul Rudd.
“Only Murders In The Building” has earned nearly 30 Emmy nominations in its three seasons thus far and has won four times, strangely enough, never once in any major categories, including acting. However, Short and Martin have received multiple nods. Maybe that will soon change with season four.
