'Operation Finale' Trailer: Oscar Isaac Really Wants To Kill Ben Kingsley In The Nazi Hunting Thriller

The latest trailer for the film “Operation Finale” opens with one of the tensest shaving scenes that we’ve seen in quite some time. Oscar Isaac plays a man commissioned with finding Nazi war criminal Adolph Eichmann in Argentina and bringing him back to Israel for trial. The scene shows Isaac’s character using a straight razor to shave Eichmann, played by Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley, and you just are waiting for the chaos to ensue.

But it never does, at least not in the trailer. As the rest of the footage shows, it takes a lot of willpower for Isaac’s character to not just immediately kill one of the men responsible for the Holocaust. Even though Eichmann continues to press his buttons, time after time, throughout the course of the tense trailer, Isaac’s character never breaks. Needless to say, “Operation Finale” is going to keep you on the edge of your seat.

“Operation Finale” is directed by Chris Weitz, who hasn’t helmed a film since 2011’s “A Better Life” but has stayed busy writing “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “The Mountain Between Us.” Joining Kingsley and Isaac in the cast are Melanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, Joe Alwyn, Haley Lu Richardson, Greta Scacchi and Lior Raz.

“Operation Finale” hits theaters on August 29.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures’ razor-sharp thriller, Operation Finale, brings to life one of the most daring covert operations in modern history. Starring Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi, Schindler’s List) and Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ex Machina), the film vividly captures the ingenious and brilliantly executed mission to capture Adolf Eichmann, one of the chief architects of the Holocaust. Fifteen years after the end of World War II, acting on irrefutable evidence, a top-secret team of Israeli agents travel to Argentina where Eichmann (Kingsley) has been in hiding together with his family under an alias Ricardo Klement and execute an extremely dangerous abduction. In attempting to sneak him out of Argentina to stand trial in Israel while being pursued by the country’s right-wing forces, agent Peter Malkin (Isaac) is forced to engage Eichmann in an intense and gripping game of cat-and-mouse with life-and-death stakes.
