So far, as has been the case with most of his films, Christopher Nolan has kept a lot of “Oppenheimer” to himself. The very little marketing that has existed boils down to one minor teaser. However, with 2023 fast approaching, it appears the filmmaker is loosening his grip on the period drama and is ready to show just a little more of his film.

Courtesy of TotalFilm, we now have some new images from the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, “Oppenheimer.” And instead of just focusing on the title character, played by the always-wonderful Cillian Murphy, we get our first look at characters played by Robert Downey, Jr. and Emily Blunt, just a couple of more names in the incredible ensemble cast.
“Oppenheimer,” as the name suggests, tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American physicist who led the Manhattan Project and helped guide the creation of the Atomic Bomb. Joining Murphy, Blunt, and Downey, Jr. in the cast are folks such as Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Matt Damon, Gary Oldman, Dane DeHaan, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Jack Quaid, and many, many more.
You have to assume the influx of new images comes as the next trailer for “Oppenheimer” is expected to play before “Avatar: The Way of Water.” We all know Nolan is a big proponent of the theatrical experience, so there’s no better place to debut new footage than with the biggest spectacle of 2022.
“Oppenheimer” is expected to arrive in theaters on July 21. You can see the new images below:
